During the 2009 ISB Convention in State College, PA I had the pleasure of meeting English bass/cello builder Martin Penning. As a fun, collaborative project we decided to build a doublebass together. Same outline as my Walnut model, but with f-holes from a Gasparo Da Salo bass. Flamed English sycamore and fine-grain American Sitka spruce. Remarked by bassists of the Dallas, Chicago, and Minneapolis symphonies as being very even and clear
